Bibliography of Further Literature
This Bibliography will cumulatively collect writings about Colour.
This is also the right context for the Editor to recall that any form of select bibliography quite necessarily does reflect the subjective competence or scholarly opinions of the author who compiled it. To include, or neglect, any title for the purposes of this Select Bibliography therefore does not impose any judgement upon the publication itself.
Finally, the Editor would like to extend a warm welcome to every member of the academic community to contribute to this major undertaking. Any correction, any title suggested for inclusion in the Bibliography, any criticism or comment are equally welcome.

Alphabetical Catalogue of Editors, Authors, and Anonymous Publications within the years of publication
This catalogue cumulates, and provides for the year quoted, all titles published, with the bibliographical data. Additionally, we have provided further information from the publishers, full abstracts or table of contents. As we grow, there will be an increasing number of reviews available for individual titles. In the meantime, the publisher's or bookseller's précis may serve as a first point of reference.
The so-called "anonymous" publications, i. e. publications without the name of an editor (e. g. commercial leaflets, industrial standards, etc.) have been collected at the end of the individual years. We have adapted this conception, which seemed appropriate to us, from: Manfred Richter; Internationale Bibliographie der Farbenlehre und ihrer Grenzgebiete, Nr. 2: Berichtszeit 1950-1954; Göttingen: Musterschmidt-Verlag, 1963.
To allow for a synopsis like any library would, with similar titles located next to each other on the shelves, we have decided against using a database. Furthermore, this enables the user to oversee fully very complex data, from beginning to end. It is only in the longer run that a search engine within certain areas of Colour Studies, such as the bibliographical catalogues, will complete our services.
Attention! We have moved the index of the years of publication from this page to a new separate page which you can find here:

Alphabetical Catalogue of Authors
This page of the catalogue gives you a survey of all authors and editors (= Ed.) who are contained in the chronological Bibliography. The individual years quoted after each author's name then take you directly to the full bibliographical information on the respective page of the catalogue.
Those publications which have more than one author or editor to them are usually traceable through the author named first (this allows for a multiple choice search). Articles in periodicals have been listed under the surnames of the individual authors.

Collection of Select Bibliographies after areas of interest
In the Systematic Catalogue, the Select Bibliographies have been organized after the principles laid out in the Universal Decimal Classification wherever possible. The reasons for using this bibliographical system have been discussed in detail by the Editor on the AIC Colour 05 conference in Granada, Spain.
Available here: Towards a European Information Centre for Colours: Thoughts on the structure, and presentation, of a complex area of academic enquiry on the world wide web. (pdf; ca. 109 KB; engl.) von: C. Monika Koch. Granada, 2005.

The Editor would like to take this opportunity to thank for both the inspiration and many suggestions which have already been submitted to her from the academic community in the preparatory process.
Every misconception or error, however, remains exclusively her own.
For this part of the Bibliography in particular, the Editor extends a very warm welcome to every member of the academic or professional community who would like to submit a fraction of the subject, however small it may be, in order to achieve our purpose to reflect, and cover, the whole spectrum of Colour Studies. Any kind of correction or amendment, every suggested single title, any Select Bibliography which may have been drawn up for teaching or research purposes, or any reference to sources already available elsewhere, are highly welcome. It goes without saying that we would quote the names of the editors who have compiled a systematic bibliography; additionally, we are pleased to invite these editors to join the "Golden Pages" with a free, editorial entry.

Further (web) resources that are available
What you can find here is a short guide to further resources (on the web and elsewhere), which we have found useful. As you know, ColourCompass | FarbenKompass follows the rationale to co-ordinate, and communicate, information about colour which may already be available on the web, even if they are difficult to trace, and, by doing so, it attempts to help structure Colour Studies as a whole, and promote the dialogue between the different branches of any academic or professional interest in Colour.

International Library Catalogues - Karlsruhe Virtual Catalog
For further research, or to compare bibliographical data, you may also find the Karlsruhe Virtual Catalog (KVK) useful. Via this meta search interface, you can trace more than 500 million books and serials in library and book trade catalogs worldwide, and cover most National Libraries in your search.
