Preface
www.ColourCompass.info | www.FarbenKompass.info is a website edited to journalistic and academic standards, which dedicates itself to Colour, and all interdisciplinary subjects related to it. The website is independent of any industry or business, political parties or other interest groups. Its main purpose is to inform and entertain its readership. The Editor endeavours to provide as objective and comprehensive information as possible, about all aspects related to or connected with Colour.
ColourCompass | FarbenKompass strictly follows the Federal German Constitution, particularly those general regulations which concern the liberal and democratic organization of the State. The Editor strictly observes the Individual Freedom of Faith and Opinion as set out in the Constitution and rejects any attempt of any radical party to challenge the values laid out in the Declaration of Human Rights. Additionally, the Editor wishes to make it clear that she does not discriminate on the basis of race, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, or confession.
Separation between Editorial and Commercial contributions
The Editor is to be identified as the author of the editorial contributions of ColourCompass | FarbenKompass; guided by the above, the individual authors are free and independent to present any facts or opinion, for which the Editor assumes editorial responsibility. The editorial opinion is developed through the editorial conference, which is chaired by the Editor.
Advertisements or commercially oriented contributions are to be clearly separated from editorial contents and must bear an unmistakable identification.
Individual authors
ColourCompass | FarbenKompass fully acknowledges and respects the individual competence of any author. An author of, or contributor to, ColourCompass | FarbenKompass must not be pushed or forced to act, write or authorize against his own belief or judgement or knowledge. She / he must not suffer from any disadvantage as a result of his action or refusal to comply.
Contributions signed by an author's name therefore do not necessarily reflect the editorial opinion.

Cultural task
ColourCompass | FarbenKompass considers itself a key information resource, which obeys the rules of common sense in combining or structuring data and facts about colour that are difficult to approach, especially when it comes to interdisciplinary aspects. By doing so, it supports an overview of the subject as a whole and promotes an academic debate and public discourse about Colour in the broadest sense.
ColourCompass | FarbenKompass therefore assumes an active role in cultural politics.
Additionally, to foster communication on an international level, the website is bilingual throughout (German and English). The idea of a Europe united is therefore simply put to work.
Distinction between Facts and Opinion
The Editor will always consider her prime task to provide accurate and comprehensive data and information in a structured and readable fashion, and a highly objective judgement which is open to scrutiny.
ColourCompass | FarbenKompass therefore regards higher its duty to inform than its liberty to influence the reader's personal view.
The Editor feels herself strongly in the tradition of the British media to keep a clear distinction between the facts presented and any opinion expressed. The Editor therefore endeavours to make it transparent to the reader at any time what the author has proved and what (s)he has thought.
By doing so, ColourCompass | FarbenKompass wishes to express its confidence in the competent reader who, through the website, will be furnished with a compass to guide him / her through Colour. Equipped with the knowledge to form his / her own view, the reader can then appreciate the editorial opinion with critical facility.
